How Is Your Life Insurance?

If you live in a hurricane zone, Fema suggest an evacuation plan. This is to assure your safe exit from the area of the storm. The fire marshal says that a good escape plan from your home or any building can mean the difference between life and death. Nothing beats a good health care plan. You never know when a costly illness will strike.

What about a good life insurance plan? I have a great one that pays my beneficiary a large sum of money should I die. But that is not the kind of plan that this article is about. No, the kind of plan that I am discussing is one that has no need for cash disbursements at the end of your life. In this plan you gain eternal life when you lose your earthly life.

How is your plan for that?

Everybody's got a plan for something. A plan for this and a plan for that, but so many people over look the most important event to plan for. Eternity! Now I know not everyone believes in life after death, but if you do have you planned for it?

What does your plan consist of? Have you thought about it? Will your plan be enough when the time comes to put it to work? Will you escape? I mean we are talking about death here. I am pretty sure their will not be any time for a plan B. Plan A has got to work the first time.

If you are having second thoughts about your life insurance plan, let us take a moment to look at mine. Well really it is not my plan at all. This plan came from God Himself before the foundation of the earth.

Ephesians 1:4-5 (NKJV)

4) just as He chose us in Him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before Him in love,

5) having predestined us to adoption as sons by Jesus Christ to Himself, according to the good pleasure of His will

There are other places in the Bible that sets down God's plan but I like Paul's reference here in Ephesians 1. Paul tells us who believe that we were chosen before the foundation of the world to be holy and without blame before God. If God chose us being an unholy people, then He was going to have to make us holy. Verse 5 tells us that we (believers) are predestined to adoption as sons of God by Jesus. Why- for the good pleasure of His will. Now this is a plan I can live and die with.

Sounds like a gift to you? Good because it is. Let us another look at God's plan from the book of Romans. This is called the Romans road of God's plan of salvation.

Romans 3:23 for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God This is the reason for a plan. The creator of all we know is Holy and Righteous, therefore He wants His creation to be Holy. But we are not, we are a fallen people.

Romans 6:23a For the wages of sin is death as sinners our judgment is death. We not only face physical death because of sin but also spiritual death that is eternal separation from the Creator.

Romans 6:23b but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. - Salvation is a free gift from God to you.

Romans 5:8 But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. Gods plan was that Jesus would die to pay the penalty of our sin when He died on the cross. He took the entire sin of the entire world upon Himself that we might trust Him for our salvation. Salvation simply means that you have accepted God's plan of redemption though Christ Jesus. It means a personal relationship with the creator of the universe is yours for the taking.

Now how about your plan, do you have premiums to pay? Do you have to do good enough to rack up enough points to get in? With God's plan there are never any forms to fill out, no physical exam, and no being turned down because of your age. No not even denial because of not enough points have been won. No, it is simply a free gift for your asking.

God bless you!

Hi Mr. Rick, your writing has come a long way in such a short time. This word of encouragement was informative and simple to understand. Great job, way to let people know how to enter into a relationship with God. It starts with admitting our sin. Love the title, too. Very good :-) Blessings, Teresa

Thanks Avis for reading and commenting.  I am not a writer so it takes a while for me to turn out a good article.  I know it is not stuff everybody wants to read but my audience is limited any way.  Be on the look out for my next one on your mission field.

God bless you
